TLS- Eddie Rickenbacker to Miami, Florida Mayor 1949

Very historic typed letter signed dated June 20, 1949 from Eddie Rickenbacker, president of Eastern Airlines to Marcie Lieberman, the mayor of Miami Beach. This was likely the beginnings of Eastern's push to make South Florida the vacation destination for east-coaster's summer vacations. Eddie mentions an enclosure of the publicity story,"Florida As I Know It" which was sent to 2,000 editors of "house organs" throughout the country. Great historic piece comes with one of Eddie's Eastern business cards (see scan at bottom). Small rust mark where business card was attached at the top left of the letter. Clear bold pen signature of the famous flying ace as President and General Manager.
