Product Description

Another rare Colorado railroad certificate issued in 1930 to the Golden Cycle Corporation. Signed by L.S. Carlton as Vice President. In 1935, the company became wholly owned by Golden Cycle. The company was the successor to the Denver & Southwestern Railway, which was sold under foreclosure. The company operated as a holding company and formerly controlled by stock ownership the Cripple Creek & Colorado Springs Railroad and the Midland Terminal Railway Company. This rare variety, the preferred shares are not listed in Cox II and are undoubtedly more rare than the common shares which are also rare. Condition is excellent with white borders on all four sides (too large for scanner). Hole cancelled. Click on image for larger view.
